The 2018 4th Annual Brewing Competition and Tasting Event at UC Davis, held on May 11, 2018, featured three brewing categories. Specialty IPAs & Brown Ales were judged according to BJCP style guidelines and compared in a side-by-side final tasting to select Best of Show. In addition to the IPA and Brown Ale categories, 2018 introduced the addition of ciders as a non BJCP category.
The 2018 competition sold out in advance of tasting event with nearly 200 registered attendees, 29 brewing submissions, and 12 unique teams.
