The Staff Brewing Competition Planning Committee has been following the situation around COVID-19. We are monitoring updates and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as campus and state and local restrictions. 

As of today, given the developments over the past 48 hours, we have made the difficult decision to indefinitely postpone both judging and the tasting event for the 2020 Staff Brewing Competition. We are investigating options for hosting the event in early Summer. If we are not able to find a solution that maintains the quality of the competition and our commitments to entrants, we will cancel the competition and refund entry fees.

We are grateful to all of you who brewed and entered, as well as those who planned on volunteering your time to judge and steward. It is heartbreaking to suspend the 2020 Staff Brewing Competition, but the safety and health of the judge center volunteers, including organizing teams, judges, volunteers, and venue staff is paramount to UC Davis homebrew community.
